Canadian swimmer McIntosh sets two world records in five days

canadian summer macintosh set the world record for the 400m individual medley.

On Saturday, at national competitions in Toronto, the 16-year-old athlete showed a result of 4 minutes 25.87 seconds. She surpassed the achievement of Hungary’s Katinka Hoshsu, who covered the distance in 4 minutes 26.36 seconds at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

– This is the first time that I clearly hear the public during swimming. It’s amazing that all my family and friends in the stands are cheering me on. It really helped me in the last 100 meters, — quotes the words Mackintosh Reuters.

McIntosh set another world record Tuesday in the 400m freestyle (3:56.08). The Canadian improved on Australian Ariarne Titmus, who last May clocked 3 minutes 56.40 seconds.

McIntosh won gold in the 200m butterfly and 400m medley at the 2022 World Championships.
