Anthony defeated Franklin and is ready for a title fight against Fury
Former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua after defeating the American Jermain Franklin spoke about his next opponent.
“I try to please my fans. Who do the fans want? They told Fury, didn’t they? The ball is on his side. It would be an honor for me to fight for the WBC World Heavyweight Championship.”
“I stand here and say this with pride, it would be an honor for me. Wherever you are, if you’re listening, you know my promoter, we already had a dialogue, so let’s continue and hopefully we can do it as quickly as possible. We’re not getting any younger.”
Recall that in London, Joshua defeated Franklin by unanimous decision. The fight lasted all 12 rounds. All judges gave the victory to Joshua – 118-111 and twice 117-112.
This is the first victory for Joshua after two defeats in a row to Oleksandr Usyk. After his second loss to Usyk, Anthony negotiated a fight with WBC title holder Tyson Fury, but the parties failed to agree.
