Gvozdyk: Bolotniks fight is a good chance to show the world that I’m still here

Their duel will take place on May 6

Former World Light Heavyweight Champion Alexander Gvozdyk commented on the fight with the Latvian boxer Richards Bolotniks.

“This is a good chance for me to show the world that I am still here. It’s great to be on a very good show. I heard that there will be 80,000 people there, so it’s very cool. I will have my third fight of the evening, after Canelo and the co-main event.”

“I take this fight very seriously. First of all, don’t look at his record. He has six defeats, but this guy started boxing ten years ago. I heard that he switched to boxing from hockey. He had three defeats at the very beginning, but he immediately took to fighting good level opponents. And he continues to develop, he beat a good opponent in the last fight. I’m getting ready for a really tough fight against a tough fighter.”

The fight between Gvozdik and Bolotniks will take place on the undercard of the fight between Saul Alvarez and John Ryder on May 6 in Guadalajara (Mexico).

In his last fight, Gvozdik defeated the Mexican Josue Obando on points in the first fight after a long pause. Alexander initially planned to fight the Argentinean Jorge Miranda, but later Obando became his opponent.
