Volkov left the Plushenko Angels in the spring of 2021.

– He moved to another rink in Rublevka, and it was very difficult for us to go there, so we made a joint decision to disperse. There were no conflicts, no misunderstandings, it was just geographically difficult.

Volkov coaches Artem Kovalev, who finished fifth in the Russian Championship last season and took 10th place in the last Russian Grand Prix final.
