European Track Cycling Games winner Ivan Smirnov of Russia has been granted neutral status to compete under the auspices of the International Cycling Union (UCI), according to the organization’s official website.
Russians Sergey Malnev, Vyacheslav Ivanov, Ilya Savekin, Ilya Shchegolkov, Daniil Zarakovsky also received neutral status.
Earlier, Smirnov said in an interview with that he intends to use his neutral status to speak at international competitions.
