Dayana’s fourth WTA title
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya became the champion of the tournament WTA 125 in the Polish city of Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
In the final, Yastremska defeated fourth seed Gret Minnen from Belgium. The fight lasted almost two hours.
Dayana lost the first game 2:6, but did not give up and won the next two sets 6:1 and 6:3. For the entire match, the Ukrainian woman converted 6 out of 14 break points, giving the Belgian four games on her serve. Yastremskaya also made three aces and made six double faults.
It was Yastremska’s first final since March 2022, when she lost to Zhang Shuai in Lyon. In total, Dayana won her fourth WTA title and her first since 2019.
It should be noted that Yastremska in a duet with Ankita Raina from India reached the semi-finals of the doubles tournament in Poland.
