President of Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe on the air of the program “Tous pour le match!” on the channel, she said that she was counting on the return of national skiers to international departures by the fall, and also told how the athletes were preparing for the new season.
– All cyclical sports are exhausting work. Normal working day – 7-8 hours, six days a week, one day off or unloading. While we train according to plan “B”, no snow, only roller skates, general physical preparation. We have to look for new ways and new opportunities to show good results in winter.
The athletes must not be discouraged and train more, our objective is the next Olympic Games. We hope that in the fall we will be allowed to participate in international competitions, everyone is waiting for the green light from the IOC. If it happens at the very last moment, it won’t be very pleasant,” Vyalbe said.
