Five teams confirmed participation in the cup tournament
New hockey season in Ukraine starts on September 13 in Kremenchug with matches for Cup of Ukraine. The base date for the start of the national championship is September 27.
Participation in the Cup of Ukraine was confirmed by five teams: Sokol, Kremenchuk, Dnipro, Kharkiv Berserki, Kyiv Capitals. Another potential participant may join the tournament in the coming days.
At the first stage of the Ukrainian Cup, the teams will be divided into two groups, the winners of which will play in the final.
Within championship of Ukraine each club will play 30 matches, the teams will compete in six rounds. The seventh match of the final playoff series is scheduled for April 6, 2024.
The start of the championship of Ukraine in the First League is scheduled for November. The women’s championship is also scheduled to start in November, but the tournament is complicated by the fact that many potential participants left Ukraine after the start of a full-scale invasion of Russian troops.
Competitions among children’s and youth teams should start in October.
Sokol became the champion of Ukraine in the 2022/23 season. In the final series, the people of Kiev beat Kremenchug. Also, the Kyiv club won the Cup of Ukraine.
