Polesie beat Dynamo and took the lead in the UPL
Head coach Polesia Yuri Kalitvintsev happy with the victory over Dynamo (3:2) in the tenth round Ukrainian Premier League.
“The impressions are excellent. This is a historic match for the fans, for Zhytomyr. What makes me personally happy is that in three months we have created a competitive team. I don’t see any point in commenting on the quality of the game, the brightness of the game. This is a historic event and there are a lot of emotions right now.”
“Our team has a masculine character. 10 players on the field, or 11 – it doesn’t matter who is opposite, what matters is who is nearby. I specifically told the guys not to look at the standings for two weeks. This victory over Dynamo is simply a football holiday for Zhytomyr.”
The Zhytomyr team lost twice during the match, but managed to come back. Kalitvintsev’s team was left with ten men in the second half, but managed to score two goals in the minority and snatch victory.
Polesie scored 19 points and took the lead in the UPL. In the next match, the Zhytomyr team will play away against Vorskla on October 22.
