The Ukrainian lost to the first seeded Jasmine Paolini
Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko was defeated in the semi-final match of the tournament WTA 250 in Monastir, Tunisia.
In the 1/2 finals, Tsurenko lost to the representative of Italy Jasmine Paolini, which received the first seeding number. The match lasted almost two and a half hours.
In the first set, Lesya did not win a single game on her serve – 2:6. In the second game, the Ukrainian was stronger – 6:4. In the decisive third set, Tsurenko was unable to force a fight on her opponent – 2:6.
This was Tsurenko’s second WTA semi-final in 2023. In February, the Ukrainian reached the final of the competition in Hua Hin, where she lost to Zhu Lin.
In the final of the tournament in Tunisia, Paolini will play with the winner of the match between Clara Burel (France) and Elise Mertens (Belgium).
