Italian figure skater Daniel Grassl withdrew from the stages of the Grand Prix of the International Skating Union (ISU) in France and Japan, reports the organization’s press service.
Thus, the athlete will not participate in the Grand Prix series of the current season.
In early September, media reported that Grassl had violated anti-doping rules: he had missed three doping tests. After this story, the skater left Eteri Tutberidze’s group, where he had been training since January this year, and returned to Italy.
After joining Tutberidze in January, Grassl finished 6th at the 2023 European Championships and 12th at the World Championships. In 2022, the Italian won silver at the European Championship.
