Ukrainian women’s team handball started on World Championship 2023 since defeat from Brazil — 20:35.
The blue-and-yellows made a fairly confident start, but were unable to recover after the period when the Brazilians made a breakthrough from 6:5 to 16:5 in their favor. The South American women finished the first half with a score of 17:10, and after the break they only continued to increase their lead.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian national team was in Group G of the preliminary round of the 2023 World Cup. In addition to Brazil, teams from Spain and Kazakhstan are also included in this quartet. To qualify for the main stage, Vitaly Andronov’s team needs to take one of the first three places in its quartet.
The matches of our compatriots with Spain and Kazakhstan are scheduled for December 1 and 3, respectively. All of them will take place in Fredrikshavn, Denmark. It is expected that the match with Kazakhstan will be key for Ukraine in the fight to advance to the next round of the World Cup.

The World Handball Championship among women’s national teams takes place from November 29 to December 17, 2023 in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The current world champion is Norway.
