The Brazilian star is following in the footsteps of Messi, who also invested in esports earlier this year
Madrid forward Real Madrid Vinicius Junior became a co-owner of a Brazilian esports organization LOUD.
The footballer will reportedly collaborate with LOUD to “implement new educational initiatives and content production.” In particular, LOUD will support activities created by Viicius’ organization, which provides educational resources to Brazilian children through a mobile application. The esports team and Vini Junior will “introduce new content and strive to improve early childhood education in Brazil.”
For his part, the Brazilian star will create exclusive content for LOUD on social networks. This will allow the organization to “refocus on the next generation of entertainment.” Vinicius will also serve as an ambassador and public figure.
Vinicius, 23, is not the first famous footballer to invest in esports. Thus, in November, Lionel Messi became a co-owner of the Argentine organization KRÜ Esports, founded by his well-known compatriot and ex-team partner Sergio Aguero.
LOUD was founded in 2019 and is considered one of the fastest growing esports organizations in Latin America. In March 2023, LOUD became the vice-champion of the VALORANT tournament – VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo.
Vinicius has played 13 matches for Real Madrid this season, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists. In mid-November, the Brazilian, while playing for the national team, suffered a ruptured thigh muscle and was out for at least two months.
At the end of November, Vini Junior was recognized as the best Brazilian footballer of 2023.
