Earlier, Trondheim Mayor Kent Ranum expressed the position of the local government, which does not intend to allow Russian athletes to compete. Trondheim will host the next World Ski Championships.
– This usually looks like a general wave of criticism, associated with maintaining a specific topic among the masses. Perhaps the city mayor really pursues his own interests and thinks that this way more people will support him, Zhurova said according to RT.
From March 1, 2022, Russian skiers will no longer participate in international tournaments under the auspices of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) due to the situation in Ukraine.
