Maguchikh won gold at the Millrose Games in New York with a new record

Yaroslava’s second consecutive international victory and second consecutive tournament record of the season

World champion in high jump Yaroslav Maguchikh won her second tournament in 2024. The Ukrainian won the Millrose Games competition in New York, America.

Yaroslava missed the first marks and began her performance with a height of 1.90 meters, which she cleared on her first try. In the same way, she conquered the next two levels – 1.94 and 1.96 meters.

Only on the third attempt did Maguchikh achieve a height of 2.00 meters – but by that time she no longer had any rivals, and the Ukrainian secured the gold medal.

Yaroslava made an attempt to update the world record of the season for the second time in a row and reach a height of 2.05 – but she could not do it in three attempts. However, for this particular tournament, Maguchi’s two-meter height became a new historical record.

Let us remind you that at the end of January the Ukrainian high jumper made her first start in the new year. At the World Athletics Indoor Tour competition in Cottbus, Germany, she not only won, but set a new season record, and also repeated her third best result in her career.

Let us remind you that in December Maguchikh was recognized as the best athlete of Ukraine in the 2023 season.
