Down-the-line.com / Figure Skating. World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) chief Vitold Banka has said hearings into the case of Russian Olympic figure skating champion Kamila Valieva are expected to be held soon.

During the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China), it became known that Valieva’s doping test, taken at the Russian Championships, gave a positive result. Valieva as part of the Russian national team won the team championship. They didn’t want to let her participate in the personal tournament of the 2022 Olympics, but they were finally allowed to talk. There she only took 4th place.

Medvedeva admitted that she tried to help Valieva during the Olympics

“We expect a hearing to be held soon. This month, RUSADA requested documents, which means they have not stopped the investigation.

They are watching and, as far as I know, they are planning to hold hearings in the near future. We will monitor this”, quotes Banka Inside the Games.
