Shevlyakov fulfilled the Olympic standard at a distance of 100 m butterfly during a competition in Banja Luka

Russian swimmer Roman Shevlyakov fulfilled the Olympic standard at a distance of 100 meters in butterfly during the Swim Wars competition in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Shevlyakov won the final round with a score of 51.44 seconds. Second and third places were Russians Pavel Samusenko (52.14) and Pyotr Zhikharev (53.23). The Olympic standard in this discipline is 51.67 seconds.

In the women’s 100 meter butterfly, the entire podium was occupied by the Russians: Daria Klepikova won (58.08), Svetlana Chimrova (58.23) finished second, Arina Surkova (58.45) finished third.

Russian Alexey Tkachev won gold in the 200-meter backstroke (1:58.40), Andrey Kadenovich (2:07.85) was second and Josip Papic Maslach (2:09.79) third.

Earlier, the President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation (RSF) Vladimir Salnikov said that for Russian swimmers the question of participation in the Paris Olympics was a turned page due to the admission requirements.

The competition in Banja Luka will take place on April 27 and 28. For many leaders of the Russian team, this is the first international competition abroad since 2022.
