The Ukrainian defeated the Frenchwoman Ferro in two sets
Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva defeated the Frenchwoman Fiona Perrault in the semi-finals of the tournament qualification WTA 1000 V Rome (Italy).
The match consisted of two sets and lasted 1 hour 51 minutes. The Ukrainian won the first game quite confidently. With the score 5:2 on her serve, she missed a set point twice, but took hers in the next game.
The second set presented a more stubborn fight. Ferro led 4:1, then 5:3, but Starodubtseva made a comeback, winning four games in a row.
In the qualifying finals, Yulia will fight with Ukrainian-American Katie Volynets. If successful, Starodubtseva will join five other Ukrainians entered into the main draw of the tournament – Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremskaya, Angelina Kalinina and Lesya Tsurenko.
