This coming Sunday Vasily will have a fight against the Australian Kambosos
Former world champion in three weight categories, Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko talked about how he changed after losing to Teofimo Lopezand also shared his philosophical approach to success in the ring.
“After losing to Teofimo Lopez, it seemed like I lost, but in fact, at that moment I won. At that moment I recognized God. This basically changed my whole life.”
“Right now my goal is not to be a champion. My goal is to become a better person, to be an absolute champion in life. Right now I’m very happy because I’ve started to understand a lot of things that I didn’t understand before I lost. And if we talk about defeats, then I don’t lose. I win when I lose.”
In October 2020, Lomachenko lost to Teofimo Lopez by unanimous decision and was stripped of his three lightweight world titles. Lopez then became the absolute world champion.
This coming Sunday, May 12, Vasily will have a fight with Australian George Kambosos. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
Let us remember that in May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion. In turn, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxi Hughes in his last fight, winning the IBO lightweight title.
