Polina Bugrova received admission thanks to quotas for other competitors

Ukraine obtained a license for Olympic Games 2024 in badminton. The best Ukrainian woman in the world ranking received admission to the competition Polina Bugrova.

The qualification period ended on April 30. Bugrova took 74th place in the ranking, becoming the only representative of Ukraine in the top 100. Our next athlete, Evgenia Kantemir, is in 221st place.

The Ukrainian received a ticket to the games thanks to restrictions for national committees. Badminton players from the top 16 of the world ranking from one country had a quota of two athletes, while for other countries there was a quota of one player. Bugrova received the 32nd license on the list.

Ukraine has been consistently represented in the women’s badminton tournament at the Olympic Games since 2008. The best achievement is the 1/8 finals of Maria Ulitina in 2016.
