Coach of the Ukrainian national rowing team Nagaev: We will restore the Olympic pair Luzan/Rybachok

The mentor compared the results in competitions in different compositions

Head coach Ukrainian national team in kayaking and canoeing Igor Nagaev said that he plans to return the two-man canoe to the lineup Anastasia Rybachok.

“We came to an agreement with senior coach Nikolai Matsapura that we will restore the Olympic double team Luzan/Rybachok. We will rebuild and hope for results at the Olympic Games, yes. Can we say that Rybachok will replace Tereta in the last months before the Olympics? I think this will happen,” the coach said.

“Rybachok and Luzan were second at the World Championships in 2022 in Canada. That is, after the Olympic Games they continued to compete in the double team, showing good results: they were winners at both the World Cup and the European Championship. Tereta helped the team a lot. With Tereta, Lyudmila Luzan won the European Games, but they were only eighth at the licensed world championship.”

Luzan and Rybachok (who previously competed under the name Chetverikova) became world champions in 2021 in the 500 m doubles competition. Then the duo won silver at the 2022 World Championships. The athletes won silver medals at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. At the competitions, 329 sets of awards will be awarded in 32 sports.
