Shakur Stevenson: Lomachenko never plans to get in the ring with me

Shakur is confident that he can easily defeat the Ukrainian

WBC lightweight title holder Shakur Stevenson addressed the newly crowned IBF champion Vasily Lomachenko.

“I promise that if I ever had the opportunity, I would show that I am a level above Loma. He’s an amazing fighter, one of my favorite fighters. But he refused the fight and chose the IBF path. He never plans to get in the ring with me.”

Previously, promoter Bob Arum spoke about his desire to organize a fight between Lomachenko and Stevenson. The fight will be possible provided that Shakur defeats his closest rival, Artem Harutyunyan. The unification fight could take place in November 2024.

Gervonta Davis also expressed his readiness to fight Lomachenko. “Tank” will defend his WBA title against Frank Martin in his upcoming fight.

On May 12, Lomachenko won the vacant IBF lightweight belt by defeating Australian George Kambosos by TKO in the 11th round. Vasily stated that he plans to take a short rest before returning to the ring.
