Podillya mentor Vitaly Kostyshin received a five-match disqualification for his behavior in the fight with Metallurg
Winger Shakhtar Eguinaldo suspended for three matches for being sent off in a fight against Dynamo (1:0) in the 28th round Ukrainian Premier League.
The aforementioned match between Shakhtar and Dynamo, which took place on May 11, became “golden” for the Donetsk club – the victory allowed it to secure the championship title ahead of schedule. Immediately after the final whistle, a brawl broke out on the field involving players from both clubs. One of the main characters was Eguinaldo, who received a straight red card for unsportsmanlike behavior.
The Control and Disciplinary Committee first postponed the decision on the Brazilian’s case until all the circumstances of the incident were considered. As a result, the FTC recognized the winger’s behavior as aggressive, which resulted in a three-game ban.
The Committee also reviewed materials on the removal of the head coach Podolia Vitaly Kostyshyn in the match with Metallurg in the First League. For aggressive behavior, the coach was disqualified for five fights.
Shakhtar, as champions of Ukraine, will play against Polesie. The match of the 30th round of the UPL will take place on May 25.
