Veres drew with Epicenter in the first match of the UPL playoffs

“I was very worried before this meeting. There were a lot of football people at this game. In our box there was both the President of Krivbass Konstantin Karamanits and the Vice-President of Polesie (Zhitomir). The game had just started and there was noticeable nervousness on our part. In the first half, everything could have turned out much worse for us. And already in the second half, the difference in the physical condition of the players of the two teams was visible. Still, there is a difference between the UPL and the First League. Yes, and the replacements helped us. I will note the performance of both Gaiduchek and Godi. Now we will have the super final in Rivne on Sunday. This is the season finale for us.
— There are only one finals in Rivne this year. After the Ukrainian Cup final there is one more important game.
– Yes. On Sunday our fans will be in the stands of the stadium. We are not afraid of playoff games. Already swam, as they say. We need to win the next match. We said the same words to the guys before Metalist 1925. We need to show who is more worthy to play in the UPL – us or Epicenter. We need to play emotionally in front of our fans.
— Ivan Alekseevich, you will probably agree that today the players of your team did not demonstrate their maximum in this important game. Why?
– Yes. Perhaps our coaching staff needed to do more rotation. After all, only last Saturday we played a key match in the UPL against Kharkov Metalist 1925. We need to get used to playing more intense football. In general, I think our teams need to play more in official games. Veres will play 34 matches during the season. It is not enough. Our neighbors from Europe play 45-50 calendar matches. It might be worth thinking about coming up with a League Cup, for example. Take something useful from England. Or maybe it’s worth dividing the clubs geographically and holding another tournament. Many football players will have more match practice. We play very little. If you hold such a tournament in winter, you can play on an artificial field. The situation with football fields has already become much better.
— Everyone praises the lawn at the Left Bank stadium. Where is it better – at the Avangard stadium in Rivne or here?
“We definitely have a better lawn.” This is just top lawn. It is hybrid and can withstand heavy loads.
