Athletistic / Figure skating. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (Switzerland) has completed the hearing of Russian figure skaters in an appeal against the revision of the results of the team tournament of the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China). Alexander Gallyamov reported this on social networks.
“The hearings took place. Everyone was as calm and determined as possible. We hope for a fair decision from the court,” Gallyamov wrote on his Telegram channel.
On June 12, the CAS held hearings on three appeals from the Russian side. They were submitted by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR), as well as Russian figure skaters Alexander Gallyamov, Anastasia Mishina, Nikita Katsalapov, Victoria Sinitsina, Mark Kondratyuk and Kamila Valieva (all participants of the figure skating tournament team at the 2022 Olympic Games). Russia insists on returning its gold medals.
Kamila Valieva was accused of violating anti-doping rules and was stripped of all her results from December 21, 2021. For this reason, the Russian team fell from first to third place in the team figure skating competition at the 2022 Olympic Games.
