Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis could fight in November

The parties are negotiating the process

IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) and WBA belt holder Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) are negotiating a head-to-head fight.

Promoter Bob Arum said he is optimistic that this deal will be completed and agreed upon. At the same time, Arum said that the parties have been in a negotiating position for a long time.

“We are talking about continuing the negotiation process, which Carl Moretti and Louis Decubas have been conducting for several weeks. I hope we can quickly reach an agreement and hold this fight in November.”

On May 12, Lomachenko defeated Australian George Kambosos by technical knockout in his last fight. The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took away the IBO belt, which Kambosos owned.

Vasily stated that he plans to take a short rest before returning to the ring. The IBF world champion in the second featherweight division, Joe Cordina, and the undefeated Mexican boxer, mandatory challenger for the WBA and IBF lightweight belts, William Cepeda, expressed their desire to fight the Ukrainian.

Previously, promoter Bob Arum spoke about his desire to organize a fight between Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson. The fight will be possible provided that Shakur defeats his closest rival, Artem Harutyunyan. The unification fight could take place in November 2024.

Davis will defend his title against Frankie Martin today, June 15th. The fight will take place in Las Vegas, America. Ukrainian Alexander Gvozdyk will perform on the undercard of the show.
