Russian athletes disqualified from 4×100 meter relay at BRICS Games in Kazan

The Russian women’s team was disqualified for violating the rules during the passing of the baton in the 4×100 meters race at the BRICS Games, which are being held in Kazan.

The Russians finished first in the race, but could not, according to the regulations, pass the baton during the handover between the second and third stages. So, the victory went to the Belarusian team (44.28 seconds), the silver medal was won by the Brazilian team (49.41).

The Russian team was represented by Yulia Karavaeva, Victoria Maksimova, Natalya Kombarova and Kristina Makarenko.

In the men’s 4x100m relay, the Russian team of Danil Roslyakov, Danila Ten, Andrey Lukin and Konstantin Krylov won (38.95), ahead of the teams from China (39.96) and Brazil (40.74). .

The BRICS Games take place in the capital of Tatarstan from June 12 to 23.
