Kostava, double Olympic fencing medalist, dies aged 87

Guram Kostava, a two-time Olympic medalist in epee fencing, has died at the age of 87, according to the Russian Fencing Federation website.

— Kostava was part of the galaxy of outstanding Soviet fencers who created the glorious history of national fencing, winning first prizes at the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Kostava was among those who imposed the traditions of the national fencing school.
