Athletistic / Olympic Games. On the night of June 24, the Bahamas Open Swimming Championship ended. Russian Yulia Efimova, six-time world swimming champion, performed there.
On June 14, Efimova received neutral status, necessary for Russian swimmers to participate in international competitions. To qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris (France), the 32-year-old Russian had to participate in a tournament in the Bahamas. Yulia won the 100 meter breaststroke, but her time was not enough to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
In the final, Yulia Efimova swam the 100m breaststroke in 1 minute 7.98 seconds. Note that the A standard for selection for the Olympic Games is 1.06.79 and the B standard is 1.07.12.
Yulia Efimova is a six-time world champion and seven-time winner of the European Championship. She is also a three-time Olympic medalist (bronze in London 2012 and two silvers in Rio 2016).
