Marta and Elena-Gabriela beat 13th seeds Olmos and Panova in a strong-willed style
Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk And Elena-Gabriela Ruse from Romania successfully started in doubles Wimbledon 2024.
In the first round, Kostyuk and Ruse defeated the 13th seeds, Mexican Juliana Olmos and Alexandra Panova, who plays under a neutral flag.
In the first set, Marta and Elena-Gabriela gave their opponents two games on their serve – 2:6. In the second set, the Ukrainian and Romanian took confident revenge – 6:3. In the decisive set, Kostyuk and Ruse left their opponents no chance – 6:0.
In the second round of the doubles draw, Kostyuk and Ruse will play the winners of the match Wang Yafan / Yana Sizikova (China / -) – Donna Vekic / Anna Kalinska (Croatia / -).
Today Marta also achieved a strong-willed victory in the singles at Wimbledon. Kostyuk beat Daria Saville from Australia and made it to the third round of the tournament.
