— Let us remember the happiest moments of your career.
— It was really cool to go to the training camps in Sweden and Sochi. They were always well organized and, most importantly, we had a nice team. We spent a whole month in Sweden this summer. We took a bus directly from our home academy building and lived in a nice village near the city of Luleå. In our free time after training, the group would go to the city by public transport, explore a new country and go to big hypermarkets to do our shopping.
And what is great about Sochi is that it has a warm climate, the sea is close and we spent all our days at the beach. There were also very intense physical training sessions, an excellent recovery center and many different recovery procedures. We were in shape for the season, we were preparing and already setting ourselves specific goals for the first tournaments.
I liked the competition. It’s the feeling of healthy competition in training, and then going to competitions. You win – and it’s very cool! Yes, I was glad that I won, because we always trained very hard, with the sweat of our brow. And then they saw the result of their work. But we always respected our opponents and were also happy about their successes. After all, off the ice we were friends like ordinary people. And of course, I loved living in anticipation of new competitions, because when you are a single skater it’s one thing, but in a pair there are more emotions. Every season there were new cool beginnings – and it was like you were opening new levels… It was super interesting.
A very cool moment, and if I were asked if I would like to repeat it, I would answer unequivocally: “Yes! Everything had to happen like that. Otherwise, I would not agree. Even some unpleasant moments were beneficial. Now I understand it.
— What are the most difficult moments of your career?
— In 2019, Ksyusha and I were intensively preparing for the Russian Championship. But at the last moment, her bone became inflamed, and because of this she had to withdraw right from the beginning. It’s a pity, because at that time we just wanted to qualify for the Junior World Championships. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. We had a hard time with this end of the season, but it made us angry in a good way – and next year we successfully played at the championship, and then at the main start of the season, “Kolesov told .
