Athletistic/OI-2024. On August 1, American gymnast Simone Biles won gold in the individual all-around competition at the Paris Olympics. The victory was the seventh for the American team at the Olympics, while Soviet gymnasts had won six gold medals.
The U.S. women’s team now leads the USSR in all-around victories at the Olympics. Biles, 27, a six-time Olympic champion, won her second all-around gold medal, her previous one at the 2016 Games.
