Quincy beat Britain’s Adson-Smith by a split second, with Zambian Samukonga third
American track and field athlete Quincy Hall won a gold medal Olympic Games 2024 V 400 meter run.
In the final race, he showed his best result in his career – 43.4 seconds. The second place was taken by the British Matthew Hudson-Smith (setting a continental record) with a difference of only four hundredths of a second, and the third place was taken by the Zambian Muzala Samukonga with a national record.
At the same time, the South African Wayde van Niekerk’s Olympic and world record of 43.03 seconds, set at the 2016 Olympics, stood once again.
It is worth mentioning the fifth place of Kirani James from Grenada, who was first in London, second in Rio and third in Tokyo at this distance, but was unable to win a fourth Olympic medal.
Ukrainian Oleksandr Pogorilko also competed in the 400m race at the 2024 Olympics, but failed to qualify for the semi-finals in two attempts.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
