World pole vault record holder to face 2024 Olympic 400m hurdles medalist
Olympic champion and world record holder in pole vault Armand Duplantis will face the 2024 Olympic 400m hurdles medalist Karsten Warholm in the demonstration 100 meter dash.
The Swede and the Norwegian discussed the possibility of such a competition during the Diamond League round in Monaco last year. The demonstration race will be held September 4th in Zurichthe day before the corresponding stage of the 2024 League.
Warholm reportedly ran 10.49 seconds in 2017. Duplantis, still a schoolboy, managed to run the 100-meter dash in 10.57 seconds in 2018.
Norway’s Warholm is the world record holder in the 400m hurdles. Karsten won a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Duplantis won his second Olympic gold in the pole vault, while the Swede improved his own world record.
