Russian call Alexei Churkin The results of the shot put event (class F32) at the Paralympic Games have been rejected, reports the press service of the Paris 2024 organizing committee.
On Tuesday, Churkin became the silver medalist at the Paralympic Games with a score of 11.39 meters. The winner of the Greek, Athanasios Konstantinidis, sent the projectile to 11.93 meters in his best attempt. Churkin tried to challenge Konstantinidis’ results in the second, fifth and sixth attempts. The Greeks showed superior results there than the Russians.
“The appeals panel interviewed the relevant officials, reviewed the available video evidence and supported the referee’s opinion. The appeal was dismissed, the results of the event remained in effect,” the statement said.
Earlier at the Paris Games, Churkin had won gold in the club throwing event.
The Paralympic Games in the French capital will end on September 8.
