Ukrainian epee fencers win silver medals in wheelchair fencing at 2024 Paralympic Games

In the final battle, our team lost to the Chinese team.

Women’s Fencing Team of Ukraine won silver medals in wheelchair swords Paralympics 2024 in Paris.

The Ukrainian team consisting of Evgeniya Breus, Elena Fedota-Isaeva, Natalia Morkvich and Nadezhda Dyolog successively beat their opponents from Italy (45:38), Poland (45:35) and Thailand (45:42) at the tournament.

In the final, our compatriots faced the Chinese team. Morkvich and Breus managed to win one fight each, but the Chinese responded with six victories, and another duel ended in a draw. The final result was 45:37 in favor of the Asian team.

For Fedota-Isaeva, this award was already the third at the Games in Paris. Earlier, we recall, she became a bronze medalist in individual tournaments on the epee and on the sabre.

The 2024 Paralympics are taking place in Paris from August 28 to September 8. The Ukrainian team is represented at the Games by 140 athletes. Ukrainians are competing in 17 of the 22 Paralympic sports – a record in the history of our country.
