Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft Resolution on rewarding athletes and their coaches for their performance Olympic Games 2024 in Paris.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has developed a project to support athletes who have achieved significant results in war conditions. The payments will apply to athletes who took 4-6 places at the 2024 Olympics.
For 4th place, athletes (and their coaches) will receive a one-time 250 thousand hryvnia5th — 200 thousand6th — 150 thousand. The project is being implemented within the framework of the previously approved budget. No additional budgetary allocation is required for it.
A total of 29 Ukrainian athletes took 4th-6th places at the 2024 Olympics. They received diplomas from the International Olympic Committee.
Let us recall that Ukraine won 12 medals at the 2024 Olympics. The Olympic champions of the Games in Paris were high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh, boxer Oleksandr Khizhnyak and the Ukrainian women’s sabre fencing team.
