Norway’s four-time Olympic cross-country skiing champion Teresa Johaug has said she has no plans to compete at the 2026 Olympics.
Johaug retired after the 2021/22 season. She gave birth to a child last May. In the spring of 2024, the athlete won the 30 km race at the Norwegian Championships. In August, the 36-year-old Johaug announced her return to the sport and her desire to compete at the 2025 World Championships in Trondheim.
“We are only talking about Trondheim. Olympics? That is absolutely impossible,” Johaug said, as quoted by Aftonbladet.
Johaug is a four-time Olympic champion, 14-time world champion and three-time World Cup winner.
The Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo from 6 to 22 February 2026.
