The Brazilian injured the meniscus and cruciate ligament of his left knee
Defender Juventus Bremer suffered a knee injury in a match with RB Leipzig (3:2) in the second round Champions League.
The 27-year-old Brazilian left the field in tears, accompanied by medical staff, already in the 6th minute of the game. Today’s medical examination revealed damage to the player’s meniscus and cruciate ligament in his left knee, and the current 2024/25 season is over for him.
Bremer will undergo surgery in the next few days.
Bremer is a key central defender for Juventus, whose defense has been impressively solid under Thiago Motta. In Serie A, the Turin club still did not concede, although they had already played six rounds. Juventus missed all their goals in the Champions League, but this did not stop them from celebrating the final victories (in addition to the triumph against RB Leipzig, there was a home victory over PSV in the opening round – 3:1).
Juventus will play their next match on October 6 – Thiago Motta’s team will host Cagliari at home in Serie A.
