The blue-yellows are waiting for their opponent in the 1/8 finals
Ukrainian national beach soccer team completed the group stage of European qualification World Cup 2025 another – the second in three days – victory over the team Norway with a score of 6:2.
Unlike the opening triumph (8:2), when all questions were resolved already in the first period, this time the Scandinavian team managed to give battle to an opponent superior to it in class.
Ukraine won the first 12 minutes with a minimal score, and by the middle of the second period it was leading 3:0, but before the break the Norwegians managed to reduce the score to a minimum. And only in the third period of the game the blue-yellows finished off the opponent, scoring three unanswered goals.
Ukraine and Norway had to play a repeat match because there was no fourth team in Group F (due to the refusal of the national teams of Romania and Turkey to participate). Therefore, the organizers decided to hold additional play-off matches in “incomplete” groups between teams that took 2-3 places.
Let us remind you that Ukraine previously reached the 1/8 finals from second place. After the opening triumph, our compatriots in Spanish Cadiz suffered a major defeat from Poland (1:8).
The eight winners of the round of 16 matches will form two groups. The four strongest teams will eventually qualify for the final part of the 2025 World Cup, which will be held in the Seychelles in May next year.
The Ukrainian national team has previously competed in the finals of the World Beach Soccer Championships three times (2005, 2011, 2013).
