The Ukrainian will fight with the ex-world champion on the undercard of the boxing show between Alexander Usik and Tyson Fury
Tom LefflerUkrainian promoter Sergei Bogachuk (24-2, 23 KO), commented on the upcoming fight of his charge with the former world champion in junior middleweight from Uzbekistan Israil Madrimov (10-0-2, 7 KOs).
“There was no hesitation on either side. They are both well compensated. And these are the fights boxing needs – Bogachuk coming right back into a tough fight after feeling like he beat Ortiz by knocking him down twice, and Madrimov coming back from his great performance against Crawford. Both fighters deserve credit for taking this fight.”
“These two are top-5 in the 154-pound division. And this is not only one of the best fights in the division, but also one of the best that can be had in boxing. You saw both of them fight last time: continuous striking throughout all 12 rounds,” Loeffler said.
Bogachuk lost to Virgil Ortiz by split decision in his last fight. In the first and eighth rounds, Bogachuk knocked down his opponent. However, after 12 rounds, one judge recorded a draw, the other two gave preference to Ortiz.
Madrimov also lost his last fight. In August, the Uzbek fighter lost to Terence Crawford in the fight for the interim WBO junior middleweight title. Israil also lost his WBA belt, won in March in a fight with Magomet Kubranov.
