The Ukrainian fought his last fight in May 2024. Vasily defeated Australian George Kambosos by technical knockout.
Lomachenko later negotiated with WBA lightweight belt holder Gervonta “Tank” Davis. The Ukrainian interrupted the discussion of a potential fight and decided to take a break from his career. Vasily was going to rest the rest of the season and return to the ring in 2025.
Vasyl Lomachenko’s manager Egis Klimas stated that the Ukrainian wants to spend more time with his family and spoke about his current lack of motivation.
