Daria beat Briton Banks in two sets, but both times she had to fight back from a score of 1:4
Ukrainian tennis player Daria Snigur made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament ITF W100 in English Shrewsbury.
Our compatriot beat Amarni Banks from Great Britain in two sets. The fight lasted one hour and 22 minutes.
Unlike the first round match, where Daria gave only one game to Ella MacDonald, this time she faced serious competition.
Banks got off to a strong start, leading 3-0 before making it 4-1. But Snigur made an impressive comeback, winning five games in a row.
The picture was repeated in the second game. Once again the Ukrainian had to fight back from 1:4, and again she succeeded brilliantly. A strong ending – and a victory with a score of 7:5.
Snigur will challenge the right to play in the semi-finals in a duel with Swiss Simone Waltert, who earlier in the tournament beat the first seed, Spaniard Nuria Parrisas-Diaz (;82 world rating).
