Dutchman Lavreijsen holds the record for most world track cycling titles

Harry won the 15th gold of his career and beat the legendary Frenchman Arnaud Tournand

Dutch cyclist Harry Lavreisen became the record holder for the number world titles on cycling track.

Harry won gold in the round at the 2024 World Championships, which takes place in the Copenhagen suburb of Ballerupe. Let us note that Lavreisen twice improved the world record in this discipline, setting a new achievement in the 1-kilometer race in 57.321 s (62.804 km/h). Another Dutchman, Jeffrey Hoagland, took silver, losing almost a second to Harry. Bronze goes to Briton Joseph Trueman.

The gold in the gita has become 15th in the Dutchman’s career, and second at the 2024 World Cup. Previously, Harry won the title in the team sprint. Lavreisen surpassed the achievement of the legendary French track cyclist Arnaud Tournand, who has 14 world championship gold medals. Harry also remains the main contender for the title in the individual sprint, the final of which is scheduled for Sunday.

Lavreisen is also a five-time Olympic champion. Harry won three golds at the 2024 Paris Games, winning the sprint, team sprint and keirin.
