Both our teams lost one position compared to the August edition
World Beach Soccer Organization (BSWW) published a new world ranking of national teams.
Both national teams of Ukraine lost one position each compared to the previous edition of the rating, published in August.
Women’s team fell to fifth place – it was overtaken by Poland, which made a leap from 9th to third place. Ukraine has 761.25 points and is 15 points behind England, but more than 100 points ahead of the Czech Republic. The Spanish team holds the lead in the ranking; Portugal has risen from third to second position.
Ukrainian men’s team again dropped one place in its ranking and now closes the top 20. The blue-yellows, having scored 770.75 points, are 100.5 points behind the Egyptian team. The trio of leaders remained unchanged: Brazil, Italy, Portugal.
The Ukrainian women’s team is preparing for the Neom Beach Soccer Cup 2024 tournament, which will be held in Saudi Arabia from November 13 to 16. In addition to our compatriots, the teams of Spain, England and Brazil will take part in the competition. The tournament will be held in a round-robin format, after which the final and the match for 3rd place will take place.
The Ukrainian men’s team failed to make it to the second group round of European qualification for the 2025 World Cup. Nikolai Kostenko’s team lost to Poland in qualifying (1:8), then beat Norway twice (8:2 and 6:2), and in the 1/8 finals they dramatically lost to France in overtime.
From Europe, Portugal, Spain, Belarus and Italy qualified for the tournament. The final part of the tournament will take place from May 1 to 11 in the Seychelles.
