In the central match of the 13th round of the UPL, Polesie was defeated in Kyiv with a score of 1:2
Head coach Polesia Imad Ashur commented on the away defeat against Dynamo (1:2) in the 13th round match UPL.
“We allowed that missed goal to make adjustments. We had to ignore him and calmly continue to do what we were able to do. But this is a game, and the mental and psychological part affects it one way or another. I think the first 20 minutes were really compelling.”
“We would have managed the ball a little more sharply and if we had taken responsibility for these aggravations a little more. There could have been more episodes where we would have forced the opponent to get upset. But it turned out as it turned out, the game is not defined and later certain episodes decide the final score.”
“Penalty – the ball hit the hand, it happens. If everything was as it was, they looked, checked, and decided that a penalty was a penalty. This episode is unfortunate because it turns out that the first goal is outside the logic of the game – a penalty and sending off. That’s it, feedback on the first half.”
“The guys are great, because they gave a lot. In the second half, in the minority, we understood that it was still difficult to do this, although we often play in unequal lineups during the training process, it’s still a little different in the game. And today it was necessary to play each episode to the end. We had to constantly be in half position to compensate for the player’s absence.”
“And today, of course, it was difficult at some point, and then, in my opinion, they began to find room for aggravation. In principle, given the circumstances, they didn’t allow the opponent to create much. But again, there were many episodes for which it was not us who should be ashamed, but other people. And today, as I say, it’s annoying, but not shameful. But there are things we can’t influence, and sometimes it’s very annoying.”
In yesterday’s match, the scoring was opened by Vladislav Vanat, who completed a spectacular combination from Kiev with a touch. The second goal was scored by Andrei Yarmolenko, converting a penalty. And at the end of the first half, Polesie was left with ten men – Bogdan Mikhailichenko earned a second yellow card. In the 86th minute, the guests pulled one goal back through the efforts of Alexei Gutsulyak, but still failed to grab the points.
In the UPL standings, Polesie continues to be fourth, but the gap from the superior Shakhtar has increased to four points. Imad Ashur’s team is ten points behind the leaders Alexandria and Dynamo.
On November 17, Polesie will hold a control match against Left Bank, and the Zhytomyr club will hold its next official match on November 25 at home against Zorya.
