Athletistic/ Others. Russian athlete Maria Lasitskene has announced her intention to further develop her sports career if Russian athletes are not allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics.
“I think even then, the 2024 season will skip at the end, and what will happen next… In today’s world, you can’t plan anything even for tomorrow. But until at the end of 2024, I will still have to jump, no matter what. And there I will decide according to my mood,” Lasickienė said.
Maria Lasitskene is Olympic champion (2020), three-time world champion (2015, 2017, 2019), European champion (2018), as well as laureate and winner of many other international and national high jump competitions.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.
