Andrey Kulik won the bronze medal in the category up to 72 kilograms among Greco-Roman wrestlers.
The Ukrainian national team won the first prize at the World Wrestling Championship that started in Belgrade. The bronze medal in the category up to 72 kilograms among wrestlers of the Greco-Roman style was brought to our team by Andrey Kulik.
Note that the Ukrainian started badly. At a tournament in the capital of Serbia, he lost in the first round to the host of the competition, Ali Arsalan, but due to the fact that the Serb won the competition, Kulik took part in the bronze medal matches.
In the first meeting, he defeated the Hungarian Robert Fritsch, then easily coped with the Lithuanian Kristups Shleyva, and in the fight for the medal he succeeded the Frenchman Ibrahim Ghanem.
After winning bronze, the 24-year-old athlete thanked the Ukrainian army for the opportunity to compete in the tournament.
“I thank everyone who believed in me – relatives, parents, coaches and friends. We have been making progress here for a long time and there is more to come! I thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to perform in the international arena, continue to work what we want and glorify our country!”, – Quotes Kulik Instagram-public WrestlingHistory.
