Team of Ugis Krastiņš will compete for one of 11 tickets to Paris
Men’s national volleyball team of Ukraine compete in the qualifying tournament Olympic Games 2024.
“Today I received a letter from the FIVB in my mail, which Ukraine has been waiting for about 30 years. Our men’s team is invited, according to the place in the world ranking, to take part in the qualification for the Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris in 2024! Bravo Ugis Krastinsh, bravo Cossacks, bravo Ukraine,” said Mikhail Melnik, President of the HFU.
12 men’s volleyball teams will play at the 2024 Olympics. The hosts of the Games – France, guarantee themselves a place without selection.
Ukraine was among the 24 teams that will be divided into three groups of 8 teams in the qualification. Two teams from each group will advance to the Olympics. Qualifying tournaments will be held in September and October 2023.
Another 5 participants in the Games will be determined by the FIVB rating and geographical principle.
The Ukrainian men’s volleyball team takes 16th place in the ranking of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). This is the best result in the history of our team.
Recall that at the 2022 World Cup, the Ukrainian team reached the quarterfinals for the first time.
