Russian rider Ilya Shcheglov, after winning the motorcycle class at the 2023 Silk Way Rally, has said he will defend the title next year.
Shcheglov won the Silk Way Marathon, Nail Khubbatullin took second place, Vyacheslav Pashchenko took third place. The arrival ceremony and the awarding of prizes to the winners will take place in the evening on Red Square.
– What are the emotions after the victory?
“I think they will arrive soon. I didn’t want to be distracted until the finish line, because anything can happen in the race. Incredibly happy, but I haven’t realized yet that I won the Route de Silk, the first such serious marathon in my life. It turned out that in a year he won both the winter race and the summer race. – I had plenty of time and I was waiting for the guys. There were very deep fords, and we rolled on the wet grass like on soap.
